Started career with Shashi Kapoor's film 'Utsav' opposite "Rekha"
in the much coveted role of Charudatta. Starred in about twenty
films as a hero opposite actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Juhi
Chawla, Dimple kapadia and others.
A cameo in the film 'Tridev' was much appreciated.
First Television serial was 'Wah Janab'. Turned to television
with 'Dekh Bhai Dekh' and 'Reporter' and acted in successful
series like 'Andaz', 'Amar Prem', 'Main' etc.
Huge breakthrough with 'Movers & Shakers' a cult talk show
pioneering the genre of political satire in this country.
Followed it up with 'Simply Shekhar', 'Carry on Shekhar', 'Poll
Khol', 'The Great Indian Comedy Show'.
Currently on air the largely successful 'The Great Indian
Laughter Challenge'. Turning back to films with "Moonlight" with
Perizad Zorabian and an album "Kuch Khwab Aise".
